Madrid-Barajas is a symbol of modernity and progress and has consolidated its leading position among world airports, being the fifth in Europe in numbers of passengers. Its innovative and attractive facilities, equipped with the latest technology to offer passengers greater mobility, efficiency and speed, with modern baggage handling systems, shopping areas and a greater number of flights make Madrid one of the most modern contemporary airport hubs.
 
Madrid airport has several passenger terminals: T1, T2, T3, T4 and T4 Satellite. The new T4 terminal and its satellite, the T4S, were designed by architects Antonio Lamela and Richard Rogers, including the two runways parallel to the existing ones.
 
The airport offers various services for passengers such as fast access to security checks in Terminals T1, T2 and T4, free bus transport between T1, T2 and T4, VIP lounges, bars, restaurants and duty free shopping in every airport terminal.

Transportation to/from Madrid airport
Train
A modern suburban train line connects Terminal T4 with several key locations in Madrid: Chamartin, Nuevos Ministerios, Atocha and Principe Pío. Estimated travel time: 11 minutes from Chamartin.
Stop: T4, floor -1.
Line C10 follows the following itinerary, and vice versa: Villalba - Príncipe Pío - Atocha - Chamartín - Madrid Airport T4. Stop: T4, floor -1.
 
Underground
Metro line 8 runs from all the airport terminals to Nuevos Ministerios station in central Madrid. Estimated travel time: 12-15 minutes to Nuevos Ministerios.
Stops at the airport:
  • T1, T2, T3 Airport. Terminal 2. Floor 1.
  • T4 Airport. Terminal T4. Floor -1. 
 
Bus
Several bus lines run from the airport to central Madrid, nearby towns and large cities in the rest of Spain. Estimated travel time: 40 minutes from Atocha-Renfe

Car
From Madrid to Airport by car, the suggested routes is the M-40 or the A-2. Estimated travel time: 15 minutes.
 
Taxi
All terminals (T1, T2, T3, T4) have signed taxi ranks outside the arrivals area. Official taxis are white with a red stripe and the coat-of-arms of Madrid City Council on the doors.
 
Car hire
In airport is possible to rent a car whit Avis, Enterprise Atesa, Europcar, Hertz, Sixt, and other car rental companies.
