Air Europa opens Madrid-El Salvador route from 18 December
Air Europa expands its intercontinental network with the opening of flight sales on the new route between Madrid and El Salvador, which will be inaugurated on December 18, 2026. The connection will be operated with three weekly frequencies, consolidating the company's presence in Central America and offering new travel opportunities through its Madrid-Barajas hub.
Flights will depart Madrid every Wednesday, Friday and Sunday at 01:45, while return connections from San Salvador will take off on the same days at 12:10. The schedules have been designed to facilitate connections with the extensive network of European and intercontinental destinations served by Air Europa through Adolfo Suárez Madrid-Barajas Airport (MAD).
The new route represents a further step in the company's expansion strategy and strengthens connections with a destination that has experienced significant tourist growth in recent years thanks to its cultural heritage, natural landscapes and the development of infrastructure dedicated to visitors.
The service will be carried out with Boeing 787-8 Dreamliners, aircraft designed to ensure greater operational efficiency, reduced fuel consumption and a high level of comfort during long-haul flights.
Passengers will also be able to take advantage of the innovations introduced with the Air Europa ON programme, which includes a renewed offer of in-flight services and more personalised assistance. For Business Class travellers, there are additional exclusive services, including a new beverage menu, updated amenity kits and enhanced satellite Wi-Fi connectivity.
El Salvador's entry into the network is part of Air Europa's growth plan, which during 2026 has already expanded its network with new destinations such as Oviedo, Seville, Geneva and Johannesburg, as well as having extended its summer operations for the first time with flights to Bologna and Tangier.
