Premium hangar for Universal Aviation Spain in Madrid-Barajas

Universal Aviation Spain has announced the construction of the first and only exclusive hangar for general aviation inside Madrid-Barajas Airport (LEMD). The modern facility, which is scheduled to open in the second half of 2026, will have an area of 5,000 m² of hangars and an area of 10,000 m² of forecourt strategically located on Ramp 7, offering direct access to Madrid's main economic and cultural hubs and ensuring 24/7 operation.
A state-of-the-art infrastructure for business aviation
Gonzalo Barona Jr., General Manager of Universal Aviation Spain, emphasized that the project represents a fundamental step for business aviation in Madrid, introducing new standards of luxury, safety and operational excellence in the Spanish capital. The hangar is a premium facility designed to meet the needs of demanding customers, offering the highest level of service and protection for their aircraft.
Building on Universal Aviation's global expertise in high-end hangar operation, this new facility will be designed to exceed the standards of the business aviation industry. Its modular design with four independent doors will ensure maximum operational flexibility, allowing it to accommodate both long-range corporate jets such as the Gulfstream G650/G700 and Bombardier Global 7500, as well as narrow-body commercial aircraft.

A strategic investment for the future of Madrid
Construction is scheduled to start in the second half of 2025, with an estimated duration of 13 months. The project comes at a key time for the city, coinciding with the start of the decade of Formula 1 racing in Madrid (2026-2035) and with the growing demand for hangar spaces and premium services for business aviation. Reservations for the available spaces are already open.
