FLR airport

Florence

Florence Airport, named after Amerigo Vespucci, is managed by Toscana Aeroporti S.p.A. In 1992, the building was inaugurated and two years later the new terminal for departures was opened. The airport was expanded in 1996 and the runway, previously 1,400 metres long, was lengthened by 250 metres; the departure area was enlarged further. At the end of 1999, work began to renovate and expand the departure and arrival terminals, the aircraft parking bays and the other areas dedicated to operational and commercial management of the airport. The airport offers national and international flights.
