Volotea flies from Florence to San Sebastián
Volotea expands its international network from Florence airport with a new destination in Spain. From 21 September, the company will inaugurate the direct connection between the Tuscan capital and San Sebastián, in the heart of the Basque Country, with two flights a week.
The route will be operated initially every Monday and Thursday; From November, however, flights will be scheduled every Monday and Friday. This is a particularly important connection for the Italian market, because it represents the only direct flight from Italy to San Sebastián.
The new destination strengthens the international offer of Amerigo Vespucci Airport and consolidates Florence's role in Volotea's development plans. The connection will facilitate both tourist flows arriving to Florence and the art cities of Tuscany, destinations in great demand by European travellers, and the departures of Tuscan passengers to one of the most evocative cities in northern Spain.
San Sebastián is in fact an ideal destination for a city break between sea, culture and gastronomy. Overlooking the Bay of Biscay, the city is known for its elegant bay, refined atmosphere, Basque cuisine and high-end food and wine offer, elements that make it an interesting destination for those looking for a short but eventful trip.
This new route is part of the news already announced by Volotea for 2026 at Amerigo Vespucci airport, which include an expansion of the portfolio of destinations with new connections to Seville, Valencia, Oviedo, Strasbourg and Berlin.
In 2026, Volotea will offer 18 destinations from Florence:
- five in Italy: Alghero, Cagliari, Catania, Olbia and Palermo;
- one in the Czech Republic: Prague;
- five in France: Bordeaux, Lyon, Nantes, Strasbourg and Toulouse;
- two in Germany: Hamburg and Berlin;
- five in Spain: Oviedo, Bilbao, San Sebastián, Seville and Valencia.
Alongside the offer from the Florence base, Volotea also confirms for 2026 the connections from Pisa airport to Olbia, Nantes and Toulouse, the latter introduced this year.
