Düsseldorf Airport is located approximately seven kilometers from Düsseldorf in North Rhine-Westphalia. A dense network of European connections and largely intercontinental flights depart from here. Over 70,000 passengers a day depart from this airport which has 3 terminals, A-B-C and is the third largest in Germany, after Frankfurt Airport and Munich Airport.
 
Düsseldorf Airport has three terminals (A, B, C) capable of handling over 25 million passengers per year. It also has Executive Terminal, a small terminal exclusively for private and corporate customers. Düsseldorf airport offers over 200 destinations, served by over 70 airlines, both traditional and low cost, and is a hub for Lufthansa and Eurowings.

Düsseldorf airport offers various services for the traveler including VIP lounges, smoking lounges, VIP services for business passengers, shops, duty free, bars, cafes and restaurants. In fact, the airport is equipped with a modern shopping center with over 100 outlets including shops, bars and restaurants, and also hosts a venue for congresses and conferences.
 
The airport is easily accessible thanks to an excellent rail and road connection and a further metro station is under construction. The airport is constantly being modernized, expanded and further developed.

Transportation to/from Düsseldorf airport
Train
Düsseldorf Airport has two railway stations: S-Bahn (city trains), ICE (Intercity Express trains) which stop every day at Düsseldorf Flughafen (Airport) railway station on the east side of the airport area.
 
The SkyTrain, an automatic cabin railway, takes seven minutes directly to the terminal from the station building. Only the S-Bahn S11 stops at the Düsseldorf Airport Terminal Station in the basement of the building. The S11 runs from Bergisch Gladbach to the airport via Düsseldorf central station.

Bus
The bus station at Düsseldorf Airport is located outside the Arrivals area. The bus lines are as follows:
  • from/to Tannenhof/Gothaer Weg, via Düsseldorf main railway station.
  • from/to Ratingen and Düsseldorf-Wittlaer-Bockum, Rosspfad
  • from/to Kaarst-Rathaus (Town Hall) via Düsseldorf Nordfriedhof (Northern Cemetery), Meerbusch
  • Route D-Airport Terminal A/B/C to the trade fair.
  • from/to Theodor-Heuss-Brücke (Bridge) (Düsseldorf-Golzheim).
  • from/to Ratingen-Ost (East).
  • from/to Mercedesstraße (Düsseldorf-Derendorf)

Car
Düsseldorf Airport has its own junction providing a direct connection to the A44 motorway.
