Deutsche Lufthansa AG, commonly known as Lufthansa, is Germany's leading carrier and the national airline of Germany. The airlines in the Lufthansa Group network include Lufthansa, Swiss, Austrian Airlines, Brussels Airlines, and ITA Airways.

 

On January 17, 2025, the Italian flag carrier joined the Lufthansa Group, becoming the group's fifth network airline. The Lufthansa Group has completed the acquisition of a 41% stake in ITA Airways.

 

In addition, the German low-cost airline Eurowings is controlled by the Lufthansa Group, and regional airlines include Air Dolomiti, headquartered in Italy.

Joint Ventures
Lufthansa participates in joint ventures with United Airlines and Air Canada, All Nippon Airways and Singapore Airlines.
 
Lufthansa Regional
Under the Lufthansa Regional brand, airlines such as Air Dolomiti and Lufthansa CityLine operate point-to-point flights across Europe and connect flights to international destinations on behalf of Lufthansa.
 
Lufthansa Group airlines offer over 12,000 weekly connections to over 300 destinations in more than 100 countries via their hubs in Germany, Switzerland, Austria and Belgium.
 
The Group also owns several aviation-related companies, including Global Load Control, Lufthansa Consulting, Lufthansa Flight Training, Lufthansa Systems and Lufthansa Technik.​ Lufthansa's headquarters are in Cologne while its main operations base, called the Lufthansa Aviation Center, is located at Frankfurt Airport, the airline's primary hub. It also maintains a secondary hub at Munich Airport, along with its flight operations center.
