Munich

FMG (Flughafen München GmbH), incorporated in 1949, operates Munich Airport from 1992. It is jointly owned by the Free State of Bavaria (51 percent), the Federal Republic of Germany (26 percent) and the city of Munich (23 percent). Within just a few years of opening, Munich Airport developed into a major air transportation hub and as one of Europe's 10 busiest airports. Munich Airport offers connections to more than 250 destinations all over the world from Munich city
 
Terminal 1 and München Airport Center
Level 04 of Terminal 1 is located at the road level. On this level you can check-in. At level 03, of the tapis-roulants link the sectors of Terminal A-E. Through the tapis-roulants you can also quickly reach the MAC and the parking area. The München Airport Center (MAC) has an underground train station S-Bahn (Level 02). Throughout the Terminal there are numerous services, restaurants and shops.
 
Terminal 2
Terminal 2 is used by Lufthansa, Star Alliance and others Lufthansa partner. At Level 04 is the central hall with ticket office and check in. There are also check-in counters at Level 03 of Arrivals. And on all three levels of the Terminal there are numerous shops, restaurants, bars and services. If you are traveling from Gate K or L, after the security check, with an underground transport you arrive in less than a minute to Terminal 2 Satellite. Even there, in addition to services, there are restaurants, bars and shops.

Transportation to/from Munich airport
Train
Two lines depart from the city center of Munich to Munich airport, and viceversa, every 10 minutes. The stop Flughafen (airport) is just a short walk from Terminal 1 and 2. For addresses of Nordallee and Südallee or the park, get off at Besucherpark.
S-Bahn 
The station for the S1 and S8 lines is below the Munich Airport Center (MAC, Level 02). Escalators and elevators will take you from the station platform to the ground floor of the MAC (Level 03). From there you can reach Terminal 1 or cross the MAC Forum to reach Terminal 2.
 
Bus
Bus lines connect Munich and the surrounding cities with the Munich airport.
The bus lines stop in Munich Airport:
  • right in front of the Munich Aiport Center (ground floor)
  • outside areas A and D of Terminal 1 (ground floor)
  • at the north access to Terminal 2 (Level 04).
 
Car
Travel time by car from the city to the airport:  29 minutes with the A9.
 
Taxi 
The Taxi service connects the city with the airport. The taxi stands are located at Terminal 1 and Terminal 2. The airport taxi service is at 03 level of Terminal 2.
 
Car hire
At the airport there are different car rental companies, such as Alamo, Avis, Budget, Enterprise, Europcar, National and Sixt.
