Leonardo da Vinci International Airport, known as Rome Fiumicino Airport, is located in the province of Rome, about 32 km from the city center.
 
Fiumicino is the largest airport in Italy and has three runways and 2 passenger terminals and is dedicated to business and leisure passengers on national, international and intercontinental routes.
 
Over the years, the airport has seen numerous development and modernization of the infrastructures to offer better service to passengers including restaurants and bars, shops and VIP lounges.

By 2021 the construction of new infrastructures is expected to increase the capacity of the airport to more than 50 million passengers / year, as well as expansion of the terminals, new boarding areas, upgrading of aircraft parking aprons, intermodality integrated with public transport of the city (Ground Transportation Center) respecting environmental sustainability (self-production of energy, renewable energy sources, waste cycle, etc ...).

Bus
Rome Fiumicino Airport can be reached with several bus lines. The daily connection by public transport between the city center, the railway stations and the airport is carried out by buses of various companies (Cotral, Sit Bus Shattle, T.a.m., Terravision, Rome Airport Bus-Schiaffini).
In addition, bus connections are available to destinations in other Italian regions with interregional lines. At the airport, inter-regional buses like FlixBus are located at the BUS hub (at Arrivals in Terminal 3, at stalls 5 to 11 adjacent to exits 5 and 6).

The Fiumicino Airport is 32 km far from Rome and can be reached by car running across the Grande Raccordo Anulare (GRA) and by taking the highway A91 Rome-Fiumicino.
