The openings of the 211,000 m2 Terminal 3 doubled the capacity of the current facilities to 22 million annual passengers. Terminals 1 has renovated facilities and Vip Lounges. The Terminal 2, after renovation, will be ready to host 8.5 Million international passengers per year. Recently finished projects Runway and new Control Tower.
In addition current projects, which are in their last stage of completion include a Seasonal Terminal for 3.5 Million Passengers/year, Multi story Car Park with capacity of 3000 cars and the Automated People Mover for moving 2000 passengers/hour within 10 minutes from T1 to T3. Further ongoing developments include a 5-star Hotel and an Extended Metro Line linking Cairo Airport with Giza.

The Shuttle Bus takes you to any of the following destinations: Heliopolis, Nasr-City, Downtown Cairo, Giza, Mohandesin, Zamalek, Maadi, Haram (Pyramids area).
CTA City Busses (all Cairo directions) and busses for destinations for all other Governorates (West Delta, Upper Egypt, East Delta, and Super Jet). Most of bus are air-conditioned. Departures are from the Bus Station located in the parking area in front Terminal 1 only.
Cairo International Airport is located in the North-East of Cairo, the Capital of Egypt. The airport is located in Heliopolis, 22km northeast of central Cairo and 40km from the Giza Pyramids. The airport can be reached from Cairo city center, across the 6th October Bridge, via Salah Salem road, which leads to Heliopolis. The airport and Heliopolis are well signposted from the city center. The airport can be reached via the new road, connection Terminal 3 with the intersection between Ring Road and Suez Road.
Free taxi drivers are in the arrival hall. The old black and white taxis usually do not have a meter and prices are negotiated before travelling. The newer white taxis have meters of prices. A few of the new City Cabs (yellow taxis) may also be found. The fare is metered and most of these are new and air-conditioned.
Car rental companies are located in all Terminals and are: Avis, Budget, Dollar, Europcar, Hertz and Sixt.
