Air Cairo expands fleet to offer more connections
Air Cairo has signed a firm order for 15 Airbus A320neos, marking a new step in the Egyptian airline's growth strategy. The agreement, announced at the El Alamein International Airshow 2026, provides for the entry into the fleet of aircraft purchased directly from the carrier, which will join the Airbus currently operated on a lease basis.
In the last five years, Air Cairo has grown from 7 to over 45 aircraft and now aims to exceed 130 aircraft by 2034. The goal is to support the expansion of the domestic, regional and international network and increase the company's operational flexibility.
The A320neo will play a central role in this development thanks to reduced fuel consumption and emissions compared to the previous generation of narrowbody aircraft and greater efficiency on short and medium-haul routes.
The new order is part of a strengthening process already underway. In August 2026, Air Cairo announced the entry of the 40th aircraft in the fleet, an Airbus A320neo, as part of its international modernization and growth program. For passengers, the expansion of the fleet means above all more capacity and the possibility for Air Cairo to further develop connections between Egypt and international markets, including European and African markets.
