Transavia was founded in 1965 under the name Transavia Holland BV and began operations in 1966. The airline now connects over 100 destinations in Europe, the Middle East and North Africa, carrying around 9 million passengers each year.
Its main operating bases in the Netherlands are Amsterdam Schiphol Airport, Rotterdam The Hague Airport and Eindhoven Airport. In Belgium, Transavia operates from Brussels Airport. The airline is part of the Air France-KLM group and its sister company is Transavia France, which operates from Paris (Orly), Montpellier, Lyon and Nantes.
Transavia is implementing a fleet renewal plan that involves the progressive replacement of Boeing 737s with the new Airbus A321neo and Airbus A320neo. These aircraft, thanks also to the new generation engines, allow a reduction in CO2 emissions of over 15% and guarantee a significantly lower noise impact compared to the previous generation.
Currently, the overall fleet of Transavia and Transavia France comprises Airbus A320neo, Airbus A321neo, Boeing 737-700 and Boeing 737-800 aircraft.
