New flight to Rotterdam at Trieste airport
For the first time, Transavia will directly connect Friuli Venezia Giulia to Rotterdam from 1 April 2025
A new route will connect Friuli Venezia Giulia with Rotterdam starting from 1 April 2025. This new direct service represents a significant novelty for Trieste Airport, which will see three weekly flights to Rotterdam and The Hague on Tuesdays, Fridays and Saturdays. During the months of July and August, the third weekly frequency, usually scheduled for Saturdays, will be moved to Sundays, to better meet the needs of tourist traffic.
Marco Consalvo, CEO of Trieste Airport, welcomed the announcement with enthusiasm, underlining that the arrival of Transavia marks the entry of the fifth scheduled carrier into the Friulian airport. It is also the first time that the region will have a direct connection from Trieste to Rotterdam, a state-of-the-art city, located less than an hour away from the Dutch capital, Amsterdam. This new flight represents an opportunity not only for tourism, but also for the local industrial sector, thanks to the proximity Rotterdam Airport to the largest port in Europe, an important commercial hub for the Netherlands and the whole of Europe.
With this new connection, Trieste Airport strengthens its role as a strategic gateway to Northern Italy, offering an increasingly wide range of possibilities for both arriving and departing travelers. Tickets for this new connection will be available for purchase starting October 16, 2024, both on Transavia's official website and through its app.
