Transavia introduces "Resale" to resell the ticket
Transavia launches "Resale", a new digital service that allows passengers to offer their flight ticket to the airline for possible repurchase if they are no longer able to travel. The initiative aims to ensure greater flexibility without affecting the carrier's competitive fares and to reduce the number of seats that remain unused.
How Resale works
Passengers can request the resale of their booking – including any extra services purchased – through the dedicated platform or by accessing the "My Transavia" section, by clicking on "Sell your ticket".
Transavia evaluates the request and only buys back the seat when there is a real possibility of reselling it on the market. In the event of a repurchase, the passenger receives a refund:
- at least equal to airport taxes,
- up to a maximum of 50% of the ticket value.
The amount of the refund is always communicated transparently before confirmation.
The repurchased seats are then put back on sale through the company's normal distribution channels.
More flexibility without the Flex option
Prior to the introduction of Resale, tickets without a Flex option were non-refundable (excluding taxes) in case of non-use. With this novelty, Transavia offers a concrete alternative to recover part of the cost of the flight, if the market allows resale.
The service represents a step forward in the carrier's strategy to develop practical and digital solutions to make travel more adaptable to changes in schedule.
