ENAC at the Rimini 2026 Meeting: flight simulators, passenger rights and mobility of the future
On 26 August 2026, ENAC - the National Civil Aviation Authority - participated in the 47th edition of the Meeting for Friendship among Peoples in Rimini. For the third consecutive year, the Authority was present in the pavilion of the Ministry of Infrastructure and Transport "Galassia Infrastructure" with the experiential space "Human connections - Every journey is born from people", dedicated to civil aviation, the air mobility of the future and the protection of Travellers.
One of the elements that attracted the public the most were the three flight simulators made available by ENAC. In the six days of the Meeting, about 200 hours of simulation were totaled, with about 200 daily operations between virtual take-offs and landings on Airbus A320, Boeing 737 and Cessna C172. Around 100 aspiring pilots per day were able to choose from several Italian airports, including Rome Fiumicino, Milan Malpensa, Venice, Bologna, Rimini, Reggio Calabria and Forlì.
Particular attention was also paid to young people through the Pilot's Corner, which hosted 30 appointments during which children and young people were able to meet ENAC flight inspectors and learn more about the operation of aircraft, the professional path to become a pilot and aeronautical culture.
For Travellers, the stand also represented an information point on passenger rights, flight safety and protections dedicated to people with disabilities or reduced mobility. Other topics addressed included sustainability, training and new forms of air mobility.
ENAC's participation in the Meeting also had a strong institutional component. On 25 August, the Extraordinary Commissioner Carlo Mearelli spoke at the panel "The country that moves", dedicating his speech to the development of cargo transport. Representatives of the Government, the Regions and the European institutions also spoke at the ENAC space.
The experience of Rimini has therefore made it possible to combine the institutional dimension with direct contact with citizens and Travellers, focusing attention on the issues that have the greatest impact on the passenger experience: safety, accessibility, protection of rights and innovation in air mobility.
