Lufthansa launches stopover in Munich
Lufthansa introduces a new travel formula that allows you to turn a simple connection into a real stay in Munich. Passengers traveling on routes to and from Singapore and the United States can now extend their stay in the Bavarian hub for up to seven days, with the possibility of enriching the trip by also adding tourist services in the city.
The option is integrated directly into the booking process on lufthansa.com and is available in all travel classes. When purchasing their ticket, customers can enter a stopover in Munich on both the outward and return journeys, flexibly choosing a stay of between 24 hours and seven days.
For passengers, this means that they can turn the transit into an opportunity to visit Munich and Bavaria, without having to organize a second trip separately. Depending on the selected route combination, Lufthansa points out that a surcharge may apply.
Within 24 hours of booking your flight, you can also add hotels, rental cars and leisure activities in Munich through the partners integrated into the system, making it easier to plan your stay.
The program debuts with Munich as the first city involved and is initially available for flights to and from Singapore and the United States. However, Lufthansa plans to gradually expand the initiative to other regions and destinations over the next year, with the prospect of introducing stopover offers at other Lufthansa Group hubs in the future.
For those flying on these routes, the new service therefore represents an additional opportunity: to add a European leg to the journey with greater flexibility and with the convenience of managing everything within the same booking.
