Ryanair reaches 55 million passengers in Pisa
Ryanair has reached an important milestone: 55 million passengers transited through Pisa "Galileo Galilei" International Airport. A path that began in 1998 and was strengthened in 2005 with the opening of the Ryanair base in Pisa, which marked a turning point in the connectivity of the territory.
Today, Pisa is one of the strategic airports for the carrier's network in Italy. For the 2025 summer season, Ryanair will operate over 600 weekly flights on 58 domestic and international routes, handling 4.4 million passengers per year. In support of this operation, the company maintains 9 aircraft based, including a Boeing "Gamechanger", with a total investment of $900 million.
The economic impact is significant: it is estimated that more than 3,500 direct and indirect jobs will be supported in the region, contributing to the growth of inbound tourism in Tuscany throughout the year.
Marco Carrai, President of Toscana Aeroporti, underlined that the milestone of 55 million passengers reached with Ryanair represents an extraordinary result for Pisa Airport and for the Tuscan airport system. And he said: "we will continue to work together to strengthen the accessibility of our region, offer an increasingly efficient service to our passengers and an increasingly rich network of connections".
There are many destinations that can be reached from Pisa such as Budapest, London, Malaga, Oslo, Paris, Reggio Calabria or Zagreb.
To celebrate the milestone at Pisa airport, a special Ryanair promo is underway: fares starting from 21.99 euros to fly until the end of October, available on ryanair.com, subject to availability.
