Wizz Air debuts in Salerno with three new international routes

From 6 June 2027 flights to Budapest, Tirana and Warsaw with Airbus A321neo

Wizz Air expands its presence in Campania and debuts at Salerno Costa d'Amalfi and Cilento Airport with three new international connections to Budapest, Tirana and Warsaw, operational from 6 June 2027.

The new routes will be served with Airbus A321neo. The connection to Budapest will be operated on Wednesdays and Sundays; the one to Tirana on Wednesdays, Thursdays and Sundays; while Warsaw will be reachable on Wednesdays and Sundays.

Salerno's entry into the Wizz Air network strengthens the company's Campania system, which is already growing strongly in Naples. In fact, from March 2027, a fourth Airbus A321neo based at Naples Airport will enter service, accompanied by new routes to Palermo, Nice, Basel and Genoa and about 500,000 additional seats.

According to data provided by the company, Wizz Air's operational capacity in Naples grew by 62% year-on-year, while in summer 2026 the increase reached 133.6% compared to the previous season.

The new Salerno airport schedule aims to develop complementarity between the two Campania airports, expanding travel possibilities for both residents and tourist flows heading to Naples, Salerno, the Amalfi Coast and the rest of the region with the splendid Campania World Heritage Sites.

The agreement with GESAC also provides for one new destination per year for the next three years, with the aim of progressively reaching six Wizz Air routes from Salerno, it being understood that the evolution of the offer will also depend on the response of the market. In Italy, Wizz Air is confirmed as the second carrier by market share and in 2025 it carried over 21 million passengers, with a growth of 8% compared to the previous year.
