The Vienna-Schwechat Airport, known as the Vienna International Airport is located near the town of Schwechat in Wien-Umgebung District and serves the city Vienna and also the capital of Slovakia, Bratislava. The city center of Vienna can be reached in just 20/25 minutes by road or with public transport.

Transport to/from the airport
The City Airport Train (CAT), with a 16-minute non-stop journey, connects the airport to the City Air Terminal at Vienna’s Wien Mitte Station, a stone’s throw from St. Stephen’s Cathedral. ÖBB Railjet trains connect the terminal with Wien Hauptbahnhof Central Station in 15 minutes or Wien Meidling Station in 30 minutes.
Line 7 of the light railway (S-Bahn) leave from the airport for Vienna every 30 minutes and stop at the stations of Wien Mitte (in 25 minutes) and Wien Praterstern (in 30 minutes).
The bus station is in front of the Arrivals hall. Buses travel to the city centre of Vienna (Morzinplatz/Schwedenplatz in 20 minutes) from/to the airport. There are bus services also to Brno, Bratislava, Kosice, Budapest and other cities in the airport catchment area (bus for destinations in Slovakia, Hungary, the Czech Republic and Romania). 

From the airport you can reach the city of Vienna, and viceversa, by the A4 for 19.4 km, in about 20 minutes.

The taxi stand is in front of the Arrivals hall. 

Car hire
Is possible to rent a car in airport with Alamo, Avis, Buchbinder, Budget, Enterprise, Europcar, Flizzr, Hertz, Megadrive, National, Payless, Sixt and Thrifty. The car rental centre is in multi-storey car park 4, level -1.
