Austrian Airlines moves from Malpensa to Linate
With the entry into force of the winter schedule, from 26 October 2025, Austrian Airlines will transfer all flights to Milan from Malpensa Airport to Linate Airport, operating up to four daily connections. The transition was possible thanks to the takeover of the slots previously assigned to ITA Airways, a company that (like Austrian) became part of the Lufthansa Group at the beginning of the year.
The choice of Linate, closer to the city center than Malpensa, aims to offer passengers better accessibility to Milan and significantly reduced transfer times.
In the meantime, by the end of the 2025 summer season, flights to Rome Fiumicino will also be enhanced, with a frequency of up to three flights per day and 18 per week. This increase will improve access to the Rome hub of ITA Airways, now a strategic partner of Austrian Airlines.
Passengers of the Austrian airline will be able to benefit from the intercontinental network of the Italian "new sister airline", thanks to a codeshare agreement that allows convenient connections to numerous destinations in North and South America and Asia.
