Verona Villafranca Airport, named after Valerio Catullo, began its activities as an airport in the early 1960s, and in 1978 the management company Aeroporto Valerio Catullo di Verona Villafranca S.p.A. was established, which in 2008 obtained a forty-year licence to run Verona Airport and Brescia Airport. The airport offers direct and connecting flights from the city of Verona to major European cities and intercontinental destinations.
