Cathay Pacific's new dining offerings in Business Class
Cathay Pacific enriches the experience of its Business Class passengers with the new "Chinese Classics" menu, inspired by China's Eight Great Culinary Traditions. This new gastronomic concept joins the "Hong Kong Flavours" and "International Favourites" proposals, consolidating the company's leadership in the panorama of in-flight catering.
The Eight Great Cuisines (Sichuan, Fujian, Jiangsu, Zhejiang, Shandong, Guangdong, Anhui and Hunan) are the heart of Chinese cuisine and embody a thousand-year-old gastronomic tradition, made up of intense aromas, refined ingredients and techniques handed down over time. The new menu brings this culinary richness to flight, carefully adapted to the operational needs of pressurized environments and the expectations of a demanding clientele.
To ensure authenticity and quality, Cathay Pacific's food team has conducted extensive studies on flavours, ingredients and cooking methods, while respecting the peculiarities of each region. Each dish has been reinterpreted to maintain its identity and at the same time offer an elegant presentation even at high altitudes.
Since April 2025, passengers on flights departing from Hong Kong to mainland China have been able to enjoy the first courses of the series, with an offer that changes every month. In the coming months, the cuisines of Sichuan, Fujian, Jiangsu and Zhejiang will be introduced, to arrive, by 2026, to include all eight culinary traditions in the complete menu.
Cathay Pacific has just passed the milestone of 100 passenger destinations served in the first half of 2025 and is investing more than HK$100 billion in new fleets, digital innovation, in-flight services and lounge refurbishment. Among the novelties, the recent reopening of The Bridge lounge at Hong Kong Airport with a completely revised concept and the imminent opening of a new lounge in Beijing. In 2026, the first Cathay Pacific lounge in the United States will also be inaugurated, at JFK in New York.
By August 2025, the entire fleet will be equipped with high-speed Wi-Fi and new individual screens, offering an increasingly connected and immersive on-board experience. In July, a three-episode docuseries dedicated to the discovery of Chinese cuisine and its evolution on board will also be launched.
