Qatar Airways expands global network for winter
Qatar Airways kicks off the 2025 winter season with a major expansion of its global network, increasing frequencies to more than 15 strategic destinations. With an even broader and more flexible offering, the airline – awarded the title of Best Airline in the World by Skytrax 2025 for the ninth time by Skytrax – consolidates its role as a leader in international aviation.
Through its hub of excellence, Hamad International Airport (DOH) in Doha, Qatar Airways strengthens global connectivity with optimised schedules and new tailor-made itinerary possibilities.
Among the most significant innovations, the introduction of a record number of daily flights to and from London Heathrow stands out, which now reach a maximum of 10 connections per day – the highest frequency ever operated by the company to the British capital – in addition to the two daily flights already operated in codeshare by British Airways.
Winter will also see the strengthening of connections between Doha and some of the world's most dynamic cities. Dublin, Berlin, Frankfurt, Madrid and Cape Town will all see increased frequencies, while Australia will benefit from the reactivation of service to Canberra and the enhancement of flights between Doha and Melbourne, operated in partnership with Virgin Australia up to three times a day.
Among the planned increases, here are some of the destinations that will benefit from additional flights:
- London (Heathrow): up to 10 daily flights
- Johannesburg: up to 18 weekly flights
- São Paulo: up to 18 weekly flights
- Tokyo (Narita): 11 to 14 weekly flights
- Sharjah: 3 to 7 daily flights
- Maldives: Up to 4 daily flights
- Manchester: up to 24 weekly flights
- Madrid and Dublin: both upgraded to 17 weekly flights
- And again, additional flights to Berlin, Frankfurt, Casablanca, Abu Dhabi, Phuket, Cairo and Toronto will enrich the company's offer.
Focus also on Australia: this winter, in partnership with Qatar Airways, Virgin Australia will launch flights from Melbourne to Doha, increasing capacity to three daily flights between the two cities. Qatar Airways will also resume flights to Canberra.
Also fueling this growth is Qatar Airways' technologically advanced fleet. There are already 54 Boeing 777s equipped with ultra-high-speed Starlink connectivity – with free Wi-Fi up to 500 Mbps for all passengers, in both Economy and Premium. The installation of the Starlink service is also underway on the Airbus A350 fleet, with completion expected by 2026.
