Helsinki

Helsinki-Vantaa Airport is the main international airport of the city of Helsinki and the Uusimaa region and is the busiest in Finland. The airport is located in the nearby city of Vantaa, approximately 5 kilometers from Tikkurila and about 20 kilometers from the center of Helsinki.
 
Originally built for the 1952 Summer Olympics in Helsinki, Helsinki Airport has two terminals. The airport is the main hub of Finnair, the flag carrier of Finland, and its subsidiary Nordic Regional Airlines.

Thanks to the various airlines operating at the airport, Helsinki Airport offers its passengers a network of destinations in Europe and long-haul direct routes to Asia, the Middle East and North America. Helsinki airport's minimum transit time of 35 minutes is among the shortest in Europe.

The airport is operated by the state-owned Finavia, a Finnish airport company that allows domestic and international air links from Finland through its national airport network of 21 Finavia airports.

Transport to/from Helsinki airport
Train
Travel time by train between Helsinki city center and Helsinki Airport is approximately 30 minutes. At the airport, there are two trains to Helsinki at Terminal 1 (Arrivals Floor): the I train and the P train which offer good connections with long-distance trains to different parts of Finland. 
 
Bus
Finnair City Bus and Airport Bus 615 operate to and from Helsinki city center (train station) and the airport. Bus stops are located in Arrivals and Departures in front of T1 and T2. Among the bus destinations from Helsinki airport: Itäkeskus, Rautatientori, Mellunmäki, Elielinaukio.

Car
By car, the journey between the airport and the city of Helsinki is via Tusbyleden / Tuusulanväylä / Route 45 for 22 km, in about 31 minutes.

Taxi
Taxis can be found at Arrivals and Departures in front of T1 and T2. The journey time by taxi from the airport to the center of Helsinki, and vice versa, is approximately 30 minutes.
