Genoa Cristoforo Colombo Airport is situated on an artificial peninsula reclaimed from the sea, approximately 6 km from the city centre. It has a 3 km long runway and is open to commercial traffic flying to the main national and international destinations. In recent years, the airport has seen the launch of many charter flights to cruise vocation. It is managed by the management company Aeroporto di Genova S.p.A. It is waiting for start of work on the expansion of the two wings of the airport.

The nearest railway station is Sestri-Airport (Trenitalia), from where buses i 24 (Amt) leave for the airport.  

Bus
An airport shuttle bus-Volabus (Amt) operates from the railway stations of Genoa Piazza Principe and Genova Brignole (Trenitalia) to the airport.

Car
The airport of Genoa is directly connected to road networks and, via a specific link road, to the motorway network which allows rapid travel times to the Riviera, Piedmont, Lombardy and the Alpine tunnels. (A7, A12, A26, A10). The airport has more than 1,000 parking spaces divided into three parking: short-term parking (free for the first 30 minutes), central parking and long term parking.
 
Taxi
Taxis ranks are found in the centre of Genoa (Radio Taxi), which offer a service to the airport. In the Terminal there is a taxi stand.
