Cathay Pacific's new lounge in Beijing

Signature design, tailor-made hospitality and local flavours in the renovated flagship lounge at Beijing Capital International Airport

Cathay Pacific has reopened the doors of its flagship lounge at Beijing Capital International Airport, a completely redesigned space that reflects the airline's strategic investment in mainland China and is part of the wider global lounge refresh plan.

The new space, the result of a design deeply focused on passenger well-being, stands out for its warm and residential aesthetic, fine materials such as cherry and limestone, and a skilful use of natural light. The welcome is immediately personalized: the reception adopts the innovative podium format, already introduced in Hong Kong, and for the first time in China the Ambassador Lounge service makes its debut, to ensure a tailor-made experience from the first contact.

Refined comfort and authentic flavours

Inside, the Main Lounge is designed as an elegant living room, with intimate corners and an atmosphere reminiscent of that of a private home. Three distinct but complementary gastronomic spaces are available to guests.

The famous Noodle Bar, an icon of Cathay Pacific lounges around the world, offers freshly prepared Chinese dishes – from wontons to dan dan noodles – with a focus on regional recipes and local traditions, such as the rich bean noodles typical of Beijing.

The Food Hall expands the offer with an international buffet with a contemporary tone: hot dishes, fresh salads, leavened products and comfort food designed to satisfy every need.

To close the circle, the Teahouse – introduced for the first time outside Hong Kong – offers an immersive experience in the world of Chinese tea, with a selection of rare infusions freshly prepared by experts in the field.

A space to live, between art and relaxation

The experience is completed in the Terrace, a bright veranda with an open ceiling and Solo Chair armchairs by Cathay, designed to relax between one connection and another. There is no shortage of art: a curated collection of works – the result of collaboration with the curators of "Gallery in the Skies" – accompanies the guest on a visual journey through modern calligraphy and evocative drawings inspired by travel.

The revamped Beijing lounge is just one of the milestones in Cathay Pacific's premium expansion into China and around the world. In the summer, the airline operates over 300 weekly flights to 23 cities in mainland China, including seven daily connections between Beijing and Hong Kong.

The relaunch of the lounge follows the reopening of The Bridge lounge at Hong Kong Airport and the transformation of The Deck into a temporary First Class lounge. In 2026, it will be the turn of the reopening of The Wing, First, followed by the Business. Also in Hong Kong, the prestigious The Pier, First and The Pier, Business are operational. Cathay Pacific also operates dedicated lounges in Shanghai Pudong and the Shekou cruise port in Shenzhen. The company will invest more than HK$100 billion in new lounges, cabin, digital innovations and a state-of-the-art fleet. Among the most anticipated news, the opening of the first Cathay lounge in New York

From Italy, Cathay Pacific offers direct flights to Hong Kong from Rome Fiumicino Airport or Milan Malpensa Airport .
