The airport reaches passenger records and expands the network of international connections
Trieste Airport continues its growth path with the announcement of new hires and a significant expansion of destinations. After breaking the record of one million passengers in October, the airport is preparing to close 2024 with 1,300,000 passengers and to inaugurate four new routes in 2025. In March 2025, Trieste Airport will offer a total of 27 direct destinations, consolidating its strategic role for mobility in Friuli Venezia Giulia.
New hires and recruitment projects for young talents
In December, Trieste Airport launched a recruitment campaign for key professionals:
- Passenger assistance staff (check-in area);
- Aircraft attendants;
- Special security guards (security area);
- Personnel for the airport operations center.
Among the initiatives planned for 2025, there are also recruiting days and projects that promote integration between the working and academic worlds.
Expansion and sustainability: the future of Trieste Airport
In addition to the strengthening of human resources, 2025 will see a major expansion of the destinations served:
These connections are in addition to the routes inaugurated in 2024, including the direct flight to Bucharest operated by Wizz Air.
Trieste Airport also strengthens its commitment to sustainability, thanks to decarbonization projects that include:
- the largest photovoltaic system operating in an Italian airport;
- the introduction of an electric vehicle fleet for airport activities.
