New ITA Airways flights for the winter
During the winter 2025/2026 season, ITA Airways will operate 53 destinations: 16 domestic, 21 international and 16 intercontinental. Among the main novelties stands out the new direct flight Rome - Mauritius, operational from 7 November 2025 with two weekly frequencies (Friday and Sunday), operated with the Airbus A330neo. Night flying will provide maximum convenience to passengers in both directions.
In addition, from 19 December 2025, the direct Rome - Malé (Maldives) flight will resume with a daily frequency until 6 January 2026, and then continue with 3 weekly flights (4 in February) to also cover the Easter holidays.
The company also announces a strengthening of the routes to Bangkok (which will increase from 5 to 7 weekly frequencies from December 8) and to Buenos Aires, which will have 10 weekly frequencies between December 16 and January 9.
In the first nine months of 2025, ITA Airways carried 12.6 million passengers, of which 2 million on long-haul flights, with an average load factor of 83.4% (+2.5 percentage points compared to 2024) and passenger revenues of 2.17 billion euros (+4% on the previous year).
ITA Airways continues the integration process with the Lufthansa Group. In the first months of 2025, numerous operational synergies were implemented with the Group's airlines, including new codeshare agreements with Lufthansa, SWISS, Austrian Airlines, Brussels Airlines and Air Dolomiti, which introduced over 150 new connections and expanded connectivity to Europe and intercontinental destinations.
Furthermore, since February 2025, the Volare loyalty programme has been integrated with Miles&More, allowing members to earn and redeem points on all the group's carriers and vice versa. ITA Airways passengers can access over 130 airport lounges worldwide, while those of the Lufthansa Group can use Ita Airways lounges according to the procedures provided by the individual airlines.
Ground and flight operations have been unified at the terminals of the Lufthansa Group airlines at Frankfurt, Munich and Hamburg airports. Flights between the hubs of the Lufthansa Group and Ita Airways (Rome Fiumicino and Milan Linate) have been optimized with schedules and frequencies, gaining in reduced connection times between flights.
The news was announced during the TTG Travel Experience International Tourism Fair in Rimini, by ITA Airways ' top management (President Sandro Pappalardo and CEO and General Manager Joerg Eberhart).
