ITA Airways is the Italian airline of reference born from Italia Trasporto Aereo (an Italian company 100% owned by the Ministry of Economy and Finance) and active since November 2020. It is currently 59% owned by the Ministry of Economy and Finance and 41% by Deutsche Lufthansa AG. In fact, on January 17, 2025, the Ita Airways company becomes part of the Lufthansa Group, becoming the fifth network airline of the Group.
ITA's goal is to offer an innovative air carrier to guarantee Italy quality connectivity with international and national destinations, also taking advantage of integrated mobility. In addition, sustainability and digitalization are two founding elements of ITA's industrial strategy.
The airline serves global destinations with main hubs in Rome Fiumicino and Milan Linate. In 2024, ITA carried 18 million passengers.
ITA Airways fleet
ITA Airways operates a modern fleet of 99 aircraft, including Airbus A350-900 and A330-900neo for long-haul flights. It has a young, technologically advanced fleet to reduce its environmental impact.
