ITA Airways returns to Heathrow from Summer 2026

The Rome Fiumicino-London Heathrow route will be operated with two daily frequencies, improving connectivity between Italy and the UK's largest international hub

The United Kingdom is one of the most strategic international markets for ITA Airways, which today guarantees up to 43 weekly frequencies – equal to 86 round-trip flights – between London City Airport (LCY) and the Italian airports of Rome Fiumicino (FCO) and Milan Linate (LIN). All connections are operated with the modern Airbus A220-100, a new generation aircraft that combines efficiency, comfort and reduced environmental emissions.

Ahead of the 2026 summer season, the airline confirms further expansion in the UK market with the reactivation of flights to and from London Heathrow (LHR), one of the busiest and most strategic airports in the world. The new Rome Fiumicino–London Heathrow route will be operated with two daily frequencies, strengthening connectivity between Italy and the UK's main international hub.

The return to Heathrow represents a significant step in ITA Airways' development strategy, which aims to improve accessibility to Italy for British Travellers and to encourage tourist and business flows between the two countries.

Thanks to the strategic position of Rome Fiumicino as the company's hub, passengers from London and the United Kingdom will be able to benefit from convenient connections to the entire domestic and international network of Ita Airways. Among the most popular destinations are the seaside resorts of the Mediterranean – between Italy, Spain and Greece – as well as intercontinental routes to South America, with direct flights to Rio de Janeiro, São Paulo and Buenos Aires.
