ITA Airways flights for the summer season
ITA Airways at the International Tourism Exchange (BIT) in Milan presented flights for the 2026 summer season, during which it will operate a total of 72 destinations, including 19 domestic, 36 international and 17 intercontinental, including 12 seasonal destinations (3 domestic and 9 international) to the Italian, Greek and Spanish islands.
From the start of Summer 2026, ITA Airways will resume flights to London Heathrow (LHR) from Rome Fiumicino with two daily frequencies.
From May 1, 2026, the new intercontinental flight to Houston, in the United States, will start. This is the first direct connection in history between Rome Fiumicino and the Texan city, operated with three weekly flights, which will rise to five from June.
Houston is ITA Airways' ninth destination on the North American market, expanded by the increase in weekly frequencies to Miami, which will go from 7 to 9 starting from June, in continuity with the offer of the current winter season.
Among the summer novelties are also the new direct flights from Rome Fiumicino to Malaga, Valencia and Marseille and the increase of seven flights a week from Rome Fiumicino to Tunis between June and September.
For Summer 2026, seasonal flights will also include Olbia–Turin and Olbia–Genoa, operating in August, both with a weekly frequency on Saturdays.
ITA Airways' integration with the Lufthansa Group also continues, with 63 projects to generate benefits in terms of increased revenues and cost reduction. Over the past year, a number of synergies have already been implemented, including:
- codeshare flights, with access to over 150 destinations;
- cooperation between the Volare loyalty programmes and Miles & More;
- reciprocal access to the Group's and ITA Airways' airport lounges;
- optimisation of flight and handling operations in the Group's hubs;
- agreement for the management of cargo traffic;
- alignment of the structure of tariff classes;
- cost reduction for GDS systems;
- agreement of the Group with Starlink for high-speed connection.
