Iberia boosts the United States and Canada
Iberia presented its 2026 summer schedule with unprecedented capacity growth to the US and Canada, consolidating the Adolfo Suárez Madrid–Barajas Airport (MAD) hub as a strategic gateway between Europe and North America.
The schedule, which will come into effect from March 29, 2026, provides for the sale of more than 1.28 million seats between the United States and Canada, with a growth of about 19% compared to the last summer season. The increase concerns both the number of seats and the number of frequencies, which will rise to 166 weekly connections, compared to 144 last summer season.
A key element of the growth strategy is the strengthening of existing routes and the inclusion of new destinations.
In New York, thanks to the addition of a new direct flight to Newark Liberty International Airport, Iberia will offer three daily connections to the metropolitan area, improving connectivity for business and leisure traffic. This increase translates into more than 350,000 seats available between Madrid and New York alone, a 43% increase in capacity compared to the previous year.
The main innovations also include the first full summer service of the route to Orlando, inaugurated last October and scheduled with three weekly frequencies and over 50,000 seats. The company's presence in the Florida city strengthens its offer to key destinations for family tourism and international leisure.
North American expansion also extends to other established destinations: Boston will see two daily flights, as will Miami, while cities such as Dallas, Chicago and Washington will be reached with daily connections.
Los Angeles and San Francisco will also enter the summer schedule with dedicated frequencies.
Another important novelty for 2026 is the entry of Toronto into the summer network, with weekly frequencies that consolidate the company's presence in the Canadian market, thus expanding the transatlantic offer and further strengthening Madrid's role as a European hub.
This expansion, an integral part of Iberia's Flight Plan 2030 - the strategic roadmap aimed at strengthening global connectivity through new aircraft and new routes - testifies to the company's commitment to sustained development and to strengthening relations between Europe and North America.
