American Airlines reactivates the direct flight Milan Malpensa-Miami

The daily route for summer 2026 consolidates Malpensa's strategic role in transatlantic connections and strengthens connectivity between Lombardy, Florida and the Caribbean

American Airlines returns to directly connect Milan Malpensa and Miami, strengthening the offer of flights between Northern Italy and the United States for the 2026 summer season. Since 30 March, the MXP-MIA connection has been operational daily and marks the return of a route particularly appreciated by both leisure and business traffic.

With this novelty, summer 2026 becomes American Airlines' peak operating season at Milan Malpensa. In fact, the company offers up to three daily connections to the United States, thanks to the annual flight to New York (JFK airport), the seasonal service to Philadelphia and the return of the route to Miami. A strengthening that consolidates Malpensa's role as a strategic gateway between Lombardy and the North American market.

The direct flight between Milan and Miami is operated with Boeing 787-8 aircraft and aims to intercept a wide and diversified demand. On the one hand, it offers Italian travellers convenient access to Florida, an attractive destination for holidays, cruises, shopping and seaside stays; on the other hand, it makes it easier for US passengers to Lombardy to arrive in Milan

Miami is also confirmed as a hub of great tourist interest, thanks to American Airlines' network to the Caribbean and Latin America. For those departing from Milan, the new connection is therefore also an interesting option to continue to numerous leisure destinations in the Caribbean basin
