Dog Relais: the first dog resort at Fiumicino Airport

In the heart of the airport area and a few steps from the terminal traffic, an oasis of well-being dedicated to man's best friends is born: Dog Relais – Airport Resort & Daycare, the first structure in Italy built inside an airport and entirely designed for the comfort, care and happiness of dogs. A unique project of its kind, which combines innovation, love for animals and attention to the needs of travelers.

Located in Via Antonio Zara, inside the Lunga Sosta car park, the Dog Relais is spread over a total area of about 4,500 square meters, offering an exclusive service to those who leave and cannot take their four-legged companion with them, but also to the airport community that wants an efficient and accessible solution for daily pet care.

Tailor-made comfort and premium services
Designed to ensure maximum well-being and safety, the Dog Relais includes:

• a main building with an indoor "kindergarten" area, perfect even in bad weather, designed to accommodate airport employees' dogs during working hours.
• 40 individual lodges air-conditioned and equipped for pets.
• 10 outdoor walking areas, for a total of 1,000 square meters, divided according to the size and temperament of the guests, so as to ensure safe and stimulating interactions.

Each dog is welcomed in a dedicated, controlled and reassuring environment, where the daily routine includes activities aimed at socialization and psycho-physical well-being, always under the supervision of qualified personnel.

Day care and 5-star stays
The daycare service, active throughout the day, offers concrete support for those who work at the airport or leave for short trips. The dogs are divided into homogeneous groups based on physical and behavioral characteristics, and involved in games, moments of relaxation and educational activities.

For extended stays, each guest can enjoy private lodges, personalized restrooms, and custom-built socializing paths. 

All accompanied by:

• Dog shuttle for pick-up and drop-off within the airport grounds.
• Grooming on request, to ensure cleanliness and care during the stay and at the time of return.
• Digital platform for interactive video calls, allowing owners to stay in touch with their dog at any time.
• Internal veterinary center for first aid services, analyses, visits and vaccinations.

An innovative model of pet hospitality at the airport
Dog Relais represents a pioneering example on the European scene, integrating the concept of pet hospitality within an airport reality.
