Edge NYC: Hudson Yards Observatory Gets Immersive

The suspended terrace above Manhattan introduces seven new multisensory installations, transforming the visit into a journey through skylines, lights, mirrors and technology

Edge NYC, the tallest indoor and outdoor sky deck in the Western Hemisphere, presents a new immersive experience inside Hudson Yards, New York. Inaugurated on June 11, 2026, the path introduces seven multisensory installations that can be used in all weather conditions, transforming the observatory into an indoor-outdoor destination open all year round.

The novelty represents the biggest transformation of Edge since its opening in 2020. Alongside the outdoor rooftop terrace, famous for its glass floor, sloping walls and 360-degree views of Manhattan, visitors can now experience interactive environments that combine light, color, reflections, movement and original soundscapes.

The installations were created in collaboration with international experiential design studios such as Moment Factory, SOFTlab and Journey. The path accompanies guests from the entrance on Level 4 to the sky deck of Level 100, with environments that react to movement, change during the day and evolve with the seasons.

Among the main experiences is PRISM, a moving prism that introduces the visitor to the imagery of New York through images, colors and changing perspectives. PULSE , on the other hand, offers an interactive light installation consisting of 450 spheres that change color in response to the movements of guests.

SKYRISE transforms the elevator ride into a cinematic experience, simulating ascending 100 stories above Manhattan in less than 60 seconds. REFLECTIONS is spread over two levels with 200 rotating mirror panels that follow the movements of visitors and create ever-changing plays of light.

One of the most spectacular elements is KALEIDOSCOPE, which includes the largest kaleidoscope in New York. The immersive room is divided into four zones and combines light, color and music, with photographic points designed to change atmosphere depending on the time of day, from morning to sunset until night.

The path continues with CRYSTAL CAVE, a luminous cave under a vault of about 7.6 meters, where large transparent and reflective crystals interact with the light. Finally, INFINITE CITY offers 18 illuminated columns inspired by the skyscrapers of New York, with mirrored and translucent surfaces that respond to movement through waves of color and sound.

The new proposal reinforces Edge NYC as an attraction to visit not only for the views, but also for the overall experience. In addition to the outdoor sky deck, visitors will find a food & beverage offer curated by Tao Group Hospitality, with Skyline Bar & Café, Avenue Sky Lounge, Peak with Priceless and the Marquee Skydeck event season, about 335 meters above New York.

Located at 30 Hudson Yards, Edge NYC is located in one of the most dynamic areas of the city, close to The Shed, Vessel, The High Line, Chelsea, and Times Square

Tickets for the new experience are already available online, making the observatory a suitable destination for both first-time visitors to New York and those looking for a new point of view on the city.
