British Airways inaugurates new Miami lounge
For the first time in decades, British Airways is once again offering its customers an exclusive lounge at Miami International Airport. The new facility spans 13,000 square feet, making it the largest lounge operated directly by the company outside of London.
Designed according to a modern and versatile concept, the lounge is divided into five main areas that blend harmoniously: the central bar, a main dining room, relaxation areas, a lowered central lounge with partitions to ensure privacy and two suites with showers. The bathrooms, featuring vibrant colorful stripes inspired by Miami lounge chairs, offer a relaxing and distinctively designed environment.
A meeting between Great Britain and Miami
At the heart of the experience is the new restaurant-style open kitchen, where chefs prepare express dishes with local and seasonal ingredients, reinterpreted with a British twist. Among the proposals: papaya salad and local black cabbage with toasted coconut and honey and citrus vinaigrette; South Florida seared plaice with lemon, Kalamata olives, fried capers and rice. The self-service area allows guests to enjoy these specialties in a convivial atmosphere, with a service designed to combine authenticity and comfort.
Concorde Dining Room: exclusive for First Travellers
First Class guests have access to the Concorde Dining Room, an elegant private room that offers a refined à la carte experience and highly personalized service. The menu features gourmet dishes such as Wagyu beef sirloin with roasted trumpet mushrooms and truffle reduction or roasted scallops, accompanied by champagne and English sparkling wines, including the prized Pommery Cuvée Louise 2005.
Upon arrival in Miami, guests are greeted by a mural on the floor that, when viewed through the mirrored ceiling, reveals the words "London Calling", a tribute to the airline's headquarters. Access is restricted to First and Club World (Business Class) passengers, Executive Club Silver and Gold members and oneworld Sapphire and Emerald Travellers.
A premium Miami experience that combines British Airways' British hospitality, local style and contemporary comfort in a space designed for relaxation and quality of time while waiting for your flight.
The opening of the Miami Lounge (MIA) alongside the Dubai Lounge (DXB) marks a key milestone in British Airways' £7 billion transformation plan, which includes targeted investments to revamp and expand the premium passenger experience. The programme also includes major interventions in London Gatwick, Lagos, Singapore, Seattle and Washington Dulles airport lounges.
