New British Airways lounge in Dubai
British Airways has inaugurated its new premium lounge at Dubai International Airport, a refined environment that marks an evolution in the British carrier's hospitality concept. The design combines the contemporary elegance of the United Kingdom with elements inspired by the rich architecture of the United Arab Emirates, offering passengers an exclusive and welcoming experience.
The new lounge, located in Terminal 1 and with an area of 5,800 square feet, was built by local contractor Al Tayer Stocks. The spaces reinterpret the Middle Eastern style in a modern way, with wide arches, decorated metal panels and mirrored walls, while precious materials such as fluted marble, antique mirrored ceilings and custom-made finishes create an atmosphere of refined elegance.
Central to the lounge is the full-service bar, which features a curated menu featuring local ingredients and British touches. The gastronomic offer includes self-service dishes such as Arabic breakfast, traditional dishes, cakes and cheese boards, accompanied by champagne, English sparkling wines and exclusive cocktails such as the Dubai Chocolate Martini and the Bucks Free Fizz. The lounge also serves Coffee Planet coffee, an Emirati brand known for the quality of its Arabica beans, and Birchall tea, British Airways' new global partner.
For First Class passengers, a reserved area - the Concorde Dining Room - offers a la carte service with local and British specialties, including Arabic mezze, um Ali, Concorde Wagyu Burger and Scottish smoked salmon.
Lights and mirrors amplify the perception of space, while an imposing chandelier with the iconic British Airways logo dominates the main room.
Access is reserved for First and Club World (Business Class) passengers, Executive Club Silver and Gold members and oneworld Sapphire and Emerald Travellers, reaffirming British Airways' commitment to redefining the premium airport experience with authentically British style and hospitality.
The new design, which will be progressively extended to other locations around the world, is based on a coherent architectural concept aimed at creating intuitive and rejuvenating spaces, capable of conveying calm and comfort.
The opening of the lounge at Dubai Airport (DXB), along with the Miami Lounge (MIA), represents a new milestone in the airline's £7 billion transformation programme, which also includes significant investments in lounges in London Gatwick, Lagos, Singapore, Seattle and Washington Dulles.
