The work "Circulatory System" by Jago at Rome Fiumicino airport

At Terminal 1 the installation of six red ceramic hearts, taken from the artist's original work of 2017 and symbols of equality, empathy, memory, hospitality, hope and courage

The work Apparato Circulatorio by Jago, one of the most internationally recognized Italian artists, was inaugurated at Terminal 1 of the Leonardo da Vinci airport in Rome Fiumicino

The installation consists of six red ceramic hearts, derived from the original work created by Jago in 2017. Each heart represents a universal value – equality, empathy, memory, acceptance, hope and courage – and is arranged in a circular shape, a symbol of continuity and absence of borders. A synchronized video projection amplifies its pulse, transforming the airport space into a place of reflection and emotional connection, even if only for the duration of a transit.

Apparato Circulatorio represents a new stage in the cultural project launched by Aeroporti di Roma, a company of the Mundys group, which over the years has transformed Fiumicino into a real permanent exhibition platform. A path that combines historical works such as Gian Lorenzo Bernini's Salvator Mundi and the stained glass windows attributed to Giotto, creating a continuous dialogue between historical heritage and contemporary languages.

ADR's goal is to redefine the role of the airport as a living and cultural infrastructure, where even the time spent waiting at the airport is transformed into an opportunity for discovery, shared beauty and promotion of Made in Italy, offering Travellers an experience that goes beyond simple travel.

The presentation was attended by Federico Mollicone, President of the Culture Commission of the Chamber of Deputies, and Marco Troncone, CEO of Aeroporti di Roma.

In his speech, Marco Troncone underlined how the arrival of the work is part of a moment of strong growth of the Roman airport, which has exceeded 50 million passengers per year, consolidating its role among the main global hubs for quality of services and connectivity. Contemporary art thus becomes an integral part of the travel experience, enhancing Italian cultural excellence in one of the central nodes of international mobility: Fiumicino.
