Ryanair's new base at Trapani airport
The airline Ryanair has announced the opening of a new base at Vincenzo Florio airport in Trapani, starting from January 2026. The decision follows that of the Sicilian Region to abolish the municipal surcharge for Sicilian airports under 5 million passengers.
The new Ryanair Trapani-Marsala base includes two new B737 aircraft, 200 million investment for winter 2025 and summer 2026, 23 total routes, including 11 new ones to/from: Baden-Baden, Bari, Bratislava, Bournemouth, Brussels, Katowice, London, Pescara, Saarbrücken, Stockholm and Verona.
In addition, from Trapani airport there are already active connections with other Italian cities such as Pisa and Turin and a 10% increase in capacity to Rome and Milan. The expected increase in passenger traffic for 2026 is over 1 million passengers.
