Rome Fiumicino Airport, the best hub in Europe
Rome consolidates its leadership in the European airport landscape. For the ninth consecutive year, Rome Fiumicino Airport is confirmed as the best hub in Europe in the over 40 million passengers category at the Airport Service Quality (ASQ) Awards 2025 of Airports Council International World.
A result that strengthens the international positioning of the "Leonardo da Vinci" airport as a European reference for quality of services, operational efficiency and customer experience.
Absolute record in customer experience
In 2025, Fiumicino achieved a record score of 4.64 out of 5, ranking first among 124 European airports and among the major hubs in Europe and North America involved in the survey.
The award is based on the evaluations expressed by over 700,000 passengers in almost 400 airports around the world, on more than 30 indicators related to the travel experience.
In addition to the title of Best Airport, the Roman airport excelled in all the main categories:
- Most Dedicated Staff,
- Easiest Airport Journey,
- Most Enjoyable Airport,
- Cleanest Airport in Europe.
From the efficiency of controls to the quality of the spaces, up to cleanliness and hospitality, Fiumicino confirms itself as a European benchmark for comfort and services to travellers.
Ciampino awarded among the regional airports
Excellent results also for Ciampino G.B. Pastine Airport, awarded for the third consecutive year in the category between 2 and 5 million passengers and recognized for the Most Dedicated Staff.
A double record that consolidates the leadership of the capital's airport system, managed by Aeroporti di Roma, a Mundys Group company.
Over 55 million passengers and sustainable development plan
In 2025, the two Roman airports exceeded a total of 55 million passengers, with Fiumicino crossing the 50 million mark for the first time.
Numbers that make the grounding of the Leonardo da Vinci Airport Development Plan central, considered strategic for:
- support traffic growth,
- strengthening Italy's international connectivity,
- guarantee service standards adequate to the growing demand,
- enhance the role of Rome as a global transit platform.
The recognition will be officially celebrated during the ACI World Airport Experience Summit, scheduled in Istanbul from August 31 to September 4, 2026.
Fiumicino European reference for quality and accessibility
Leonardo da Vinci is one of the two European hubs and twelve in the world with a 5-star Skytrax rating for quality of service. ACI World has also recognized both Roman airports with the highest level of accreditation on accessibility, confirming its commitment to an increasingly inclusive travel experience.
