Milan Bergamo Airport tells over fifty years of history in a new video

An audiovisual story created with SACBO was presented with ImpresaCultura 2026, from the first scheduled flight to the growth of the airport and the interventions inaugurated in 2025

Over fifty years of history of Milan Bergamo Airport become a story in images. During the presentation of ImpresaCultura 2026, hosted on 20 October at the Bergamo airport, a video made in collaboration with SACBO and dedicated to the memory of the airport was previewed.

Through images and archival materials, the film traces some of the stages that have accompanied the development of Milan Bergamo Airport: from the birth of SACBO and the first scheduled flight to the opening of new routes, up to the progressive transformation of the runway and the terminal.

The story also includes the milestone of 10 million passengers reached in 2015, the role played by the airport during the health emergency and the most recent developments, with new gates, new spaces and the interventions inaugurated in 2025.

The video thus gives back the evolution of an infrastructure that over time has increasingly entered the daily life of the territory, accompanying movements related to tourism, work, study, care and family reunification.

The presentation took place as part of the fifth edition of ImpresaCultura, entitled "The Archives of Culture", a project born from the collaboration between PEO Cultural and Business Communication and the Art Maiora Cultural Association to enhance Bergamo and the Bergamo area through audiovisual language.

The 2026 edition is dedicated to ten archives and places of memory in the province, including the Archive of the Diocese of Bergamo, the Sestini Photographic Archive, the Gaetano Donizetti Music Library, the Dalmine Foundation, the Pope John XXIII Foundation and the SAME Historical Archive.
The ten audiovisuals will be presented to the public on 3 November at 8.30 pm at the Dalmine Foundation and will be available online from 4 November through the website and social channels of ImpresaCultura, with the collaboration of Visit Bergamo.
