Ciampino Airport wins the 4 Skytrax Stars
Rome Ciampino Airport "Giovan Battista Pastine", managed by Aeroporti di Roma (Mundys Group), has obtained for the first time the 4-star Skytrax rating, one of the most authoritative awards in the world in the airport sector. A milestone that further strengthens the international positioning of the Roman airport system, after the 5 Skytrax stars assigned and confirmed to the Leonardo da Vinci airport in Rome Fiumicino.
With over 4 million passengers in 2025, up 3.3% compared to the previous year, Ciampino thus joins the elite of European airports in the 2-5 million passengers category certified with 4 stars, attesting to high standards of quality and operational reliability.
The award was given by Skytrax, which evaluates airports on the basis of more than 800 indicators relating to products, services and processes. The analysis, conducted during 2025 according to a standardized methodology, rewarded the entire travel experience offered by G.B. Pastine: from the comfort of the terminal to cleanliness, from the clarity of the signage to the ease of orientation, up to the quality of staff service, the efficiency of security checks and border procedures.
Particular appreciation was also given to services dedicated to families, assistance for passengers with reduced mobility (PRM), the presence of work areas and charging points, as well as initiatives designed to make waiting more pleasant, such as children's play areas, table football and musical instruments.
According to Marco Troncone, CEO of Aeroporti di Roma, the 4-star Skytrax represent a further step in the path of continuous improvement launched on the entire Rome airport system. Ciampino airport, with its strategic role and particular dual-use operational configuration, is confirmed as one of the most popular airports in Europe in its category for quality, punctuality and efficiency.
In recent years, ADR has invested in the infrastructural and functional enhancement of Ciampino, in line with a sustainable and innovative development model that has led the Roman airport system to exceed the record threshold of 55 million passengers per year. In this context, the terminal modernization program will continue in 2026, with new interventions already planned in the coming months, aimed at making the passenger experience increasingly homogeneous and high-level in all areas of the airport.
