Airports Innovate 2024: Rome-Fiumicino at the heart of global innovation
From 26 to 28 November, Terminal 5 will host the world conference on the topics of digital transformation, sustainability and artificial intelligence in aviation
Rome-Fiumicino "Leonardo da Vinci" Airport becomes the beating heart of global aeronautical innovation by hosting Airports Innovate 2024, the leading international conference dedicated to the evolution of the airport sector. The event, organized by ACI Europe, ACI Asia-Pacific & Middle East and ACI World, will be held from November 26 to 28 at Terminal 5 and will be attended by the main industry leaders.
During the three days, representatives of airports from all over the world will discuss topics of primary importance such as:
Digital transformation: new technologies to improve the passenger experience and operations.
Sustainability in aviation: strategies to reduce the environmental impact of the sector.
Emerging technologies and artificial intelligence: concrete applications to optimize airport operations.
Infrastructural innovations: models to develop more efficient and advanced airports.
The program includes the participation of prominent personalities, including:
Marco Troncone, CEO of Aeroporti di Roma;
Pierluigi Di Palma, President of ENAC (TBC);
Alessio Butti, Undersecretary of State for Technological Innovation (TBC);
Olivier Jankovec, Director General of ACI Europe;
Justin Erbacci, General Manager of ACI World.
These talks will offer an overview of the challenges and opportunities facing the sector, with a particular focus on how technological innovation and sustainability can transform the industry.
A highlight of the conference will be the ACI World-Amadeus Technology Innovation Awards 2024 award ceremony, which will recognize the best airports in four key categories:
Innovation in airport processes related to passengers.
Management of airport operations and installations.
Leadership in airport innovation.
Best up and coming small airport.
In addition, the ACI Europe Innovation and Technology Forum, in collaboration with Aeroporti di Roma, will select the three best European startups that are revolutionizing the future of the sector.
