Aeroitalia opens base in Genoa and launches new flight to Rome

Two aircraft based in the Ligurian airport and, from 2 February 2026, two connections a day to the capital on weekdays and dedicated services on weekends

From 2 February 2026, Genoa Airport will enter a new phase of development thanks to the opening of the Aeroitalia operational base, which provides for the permanent presence of two aircraft and about 20 crew members based in the Ligurian capital. This is a strategic investment that strengthens the role of Cristoforo Colombo in the carrier's national network and confirms its growing attractiveness.

"Aeroitalia's decision to invest in Genoa City Airport with a real base demonstrates the newfound attractiveness of Cristoforo Colombo on the market and further recognition of its potential," said Enrico Musso, President of Genoa Airport. "The new route will help to further strengthen connectivity to and from the Ligurian territory, guaranteeing a further opportunity for Travellers who reach the capital by train or car".
