A performance against gender-based violence and, from 25 November to 10 December, the 'UNiTE 2025 - Orange the World' campaign illuminates the external fountain of Terminal 3 of Fiumicino and the façade of Ciampino airport in orange

On the occasion of the International Day for the Elimination of Violence against Women, Aeroporti di Roma (a Mundys Group company) renews its commitment to promoting a culture based on respect, listening and combating gender inequality, hosting a special choreography created in collaboration with the Teatro dell'Opera di Roma at Rome Fiumicino Airport.

The performance, entitled "I want to be the last", took place this morning at the "Piazza" of Terminal 1 Departures, in the presence of the Director of the Dance School of the Teatro dell'Opera, Eleonora Abbagnato, and aimed at hundreds of departing and arriving passengers, as well as airport staff.

Eight young dancers from the School performed an intense and meaningful choreography, conceived by Giovanni Castelli and inspired by the famous verses of the Peruvian activist Cristina Torres Cáceres, which have become a symbol of denunciation and resistance. To support and amplify the emotional and symbolic force of the movement, the unreleased song "Butterfly", composed for the occasion by the musician Irene Bello (aka Eneri).

The initiative is part of Aeroporti di Roma's participation in the United Nations UNiTE 2025 – Orange the World campaign, promoted globally by UN Women to raise awareness on the issue of digital gender-based violence

For the entire duration of the campaign, from 25 November to 10 December (Human Rights Day), ADR will illuminate some symbolic places in orange (a colour that symbolises a future without violence): the fountain outside Terminal 3 of Rome Fiumicino and the façade of the G.B. Pastine airport in Ciampino.

"Through the lighting of some symbolic areas of Fiumicino and Ciampino airports as part of the United Nations UNiTE 2025 – Orange the World campaign, we have chosen to combine art and light to stimulate reflection and awareness on issues of profound relevance for the community and for the territories in which we operate, such as digital gender-based violence. These are initiatives that express the sense of responsibility with which we interpret our role and the desire to contribute in a concrete way to the creation of increasingly safe, inclusive and attentive contexts to the dignity of people," said Veronica Pamio, Senior Vice President External Affairs, Sustainability & Destination Management of Aeroporti di Roma.

The promotion of equity and gender equality is at the heart of Aeroporti di Roma's sustainability policies, which has launched a structured path in the area of Diversity, Equity & Inclusion. A commitment officially recognized with the Gender Equality Certification (UNI PdR 125:2022), obtained at the end of 2023 and renewed in 2025, and awarded internationally with the Equity, Diversity & Inclusion Award awarded on November 19 in Berlin, during the International Airport Summit.

Among the most significant projects is the collaboration with the DonneXStrada association, which in 2024 led to the activation of the first Purple Point in an Italian airport, in Fiumicino, extended this year also to Ciampino, a reference point to which women in difficulty can turn for initial support. Concrete actions that confirm the company's active role in strengthening a culture based on equality, prevention and respect, in line with the Sustainable Development Goals of the UN 2030 Agenda.
