The official celebration took place at Fiumicino airport, at the gate of the Rome-Malaga flight, with a special event that involved departing passengers, including toasts, cake and a festive atmosphere. The lucky one hundred millionth passenger was rewarded with a €500 voucher valid on all Wizz Air destinations.

In 2024 alone, Wizz Air operated over 91,000 flights to and from Italy, carrying more than 18 million passengers, with a punctuality rate of 99.5%. Overall, the company serves more than 200 routes to/from Italy to 80 destinations in 30 countries, with over 13 million seats available.

At Rome Fiumicino, Wizz Air currently has a stationed fleet of 13 Airbus A321neos, the most sustainable in their category, and has created over 600 jobs. It operates 60 routes to 25 countries, including popular destinations such as London, Madrid, Barcelona, Lisbon, as well as summer destinations such as Corfu, Mykonos, Santorini and Zakynthos.

The enhancement continues with the opening of a Training Center in Fiumicino on 1 October 2024 and with the increase in frequencies in the Summer Schedule 2025. The Roman airport, recently included among the World's Top 10 Airports by Skytrax and one of only 12 airports in the world with a 5-star rating, thus confirms itself as a strategic platform for Wizz Air's growth in Europe.
