Volotea strengthens its base in Florence

The company expands its presence in the Tuscan airport with four new routes to Spain, France and Germany and a 21% growth in overall capacity

Volotea continues to invest in Tuscany and announces the expansion of its base at the Amerigo Vespucci airport in Florence, where a second aircraft will be based in the second half of 2026. The initiative will make it possible to increase capacity by 21% compared to 2025, with over 470,000 seats on sale, and to enrich the offer of international connections to and from the Tuscan capital.

In 2026, Volotea will operate a total of 16 routes from Florence, with new destinations to Seville, Valencia, Strasbourg and Berlin, in addition to the already active connections to Italy, France, Germany, Spain and the Czech Republic. The company thus confirms itself as the first carrier in terms of number of destinations operated by the Florentine airport.

During 2025, Volotea recorded significant results in Florence, operating around 2,000 flights and carrying over 275,000 passengers, with a 94% occupancy rate. Punctuality and operational reliability remain among the strengths of the company, which continues to improve its offer in terms of quality of service and travel comfort.

Four new European destinations for 2026

The new routes announced by Florence will start in September 2026:

  • Florence–Seville, operating on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays (from 21 September)
  • Florence–Valencia, on Tuesdays and Saturdays (from 22 September)
  • Florence–Strasbourg, on Wednesdays and Sundays (from 23 September)
  • Florence–Berlin, on Wednesdays and Sundays (from 23 September)

The new connections enrich Volotea's network and expand travel opportunities between Florence and the main European cities, favoring both incoming tourism and leisure and business travel.
