Turkish Airlines strengthens its ties with Italy

The company connects Italy to the world from 9 destinations: Bologna, Catania, Genoa, Milan, Naples, Palermo, Rome, Turin and Venice. With 150 weekly flights in 2024, it carried over 2 million passengers

Italy plays an important role in the history of Turkish Airlines: the first flight to Rome dates back to 1959, marking the beginning of a solid and lasting relationship between the two countries. Today, Turkish Airlines connects Italy to Istanbul and, from there, to the rest of the world from nine airports: Bologna, Catania, Genoa, Milan, Naples, Palermo, Rome, Turin and Venice - with 150 weekly flights carrying over 2 million passengers in 2024.

Looking ahead, the carrier continues to grow according to Vision 2033, which calls for a fleet of 800 aircraft by 2033. With this in mind, Turkish Airlines recently signed an agreement with Boeing for the purchase of 75 new long-haul aircraft, with deliveries expected between 2029 and 2034.

Recognized for the tenth time as "Best Airline in Europe" at the Skytrax World Airline Awards and awarded as "World's Most Sustainable Flag Carrier" at the World Finance Sustainability Awards, Turkish Airlines confirms its international leadership.

The milestones reflect the carrier's ongoing commitment to offering a travel experience that combines quality, innovation and sustainability, while strengthening its role as a bridge between Italy and the world.

Also this year Turkish Airlines participates in the TTG Travel Experience in Rimini, a B2B event for tourism in Italy. The carrier's stand, located in the WORLD Hall – Area C3, Stand 433-509.
