Swiss boosts flights to Palermo and Venice

For summer 2026, the company strengthens its short-haul offer with more flights to two Italian destinations in high demand by passengers

SWISS is expanding its European short-haul offer for summer 2026 and is also including Italy among the markets affected by the seasonal expansion. Between May and September 2026, the airline will operate a total of 74 additional flights between Switzerland and various European destinations, making targeted use of available capacity on routes with the highest demand.

As for the Italian network, the destinations involved are Palermo and Venice. Palermo is one of the destinations that will benefit from the increase in capacity as early as May, as part of a first package of additional flights involving nine European airports. From June to September, however, SWISS's focus will be on a number of routes with high demand, including Venice.

Overall, 11 European destinations are involved in the company's summer expansion: Malaga, Alicante, Stockholm, Athens, Malta, Nice, Porto, Palma de Mallorca, Palermo, Thessaloniki and Venice. Additional flights are already bookable.

For passengers departing from or arriving from Italy, the enhancement of Swiss connections to Venice and Palermo represents an additional opportunity to plan summer trips between Italy and Switzerland, with greater availability on two destinations that are particularly popular both on the leisure front and for seasonal tourist flows.
