Mafalda flies to Madrid on board an Iberia plane
The Matadero in Madrid welcomes the statue of Mafalda, a symbol of Argentine culture, strengthening ties between Spain and Latin America
On board a modern Iberia A350, Mafalda made her special journey from Buenos Aires to Madrid. Positioned in Business class, the statue surprised and conquered passengers. Made by the Argentine artist Pablo Irrgang in epoxy resin and quartz to ensure its resistance, it will be installed in the heart of Matadero as a permanent tribute to Quino, strengthening the cultural link between Spain and Latin America.
Madrid's Matadero is a cultural and artistic center located in the Arganzuela district. Originally a 20th-century industrial slaughterhouse, it has been transformed into a vibrant cultural space that hosts art events, exhibitions, plays, cinema, and workshops.
Thanks to this initiative, Madrid joins the twelve cities that already host the Argentine "little philosopher" in their streets, further enriching the city's cultural landscape.
Iberia operates direct flights from the main Italian airports. Its connections facilitate travel, not only between Italy and Spain but also between several international destinations, with convenient connections from the Madrid hub allowing Italian passengers to reach numerous destinations around the world.
